Everything's going great for you I trust.
No complaints here. Weather has been great,
though some say a bit cool. Not for me, I
don't mind temps in the low 70's.
Seems like email is on the rise again, or at
least in my inbox. Marketers must be hurting a
little so they've stepped up their campaigns.
At least I don't spend as much time reading
all that stuff as I used to. With everybody
trying to get me to 'watch the short 20 minute'
video, I close them out that much faster.
What makes them think I have that much time
on my hands? Guess you can tell I'm not sold
on video advertising yet. No more than I am
on social sites. I still don't run any. Maybe
I'm just old and stuck in my ways, but I haven't
seen the advantage in spending all that time
NOT working on my business.
Oh, I know what they say, video is 'in',
tweeting is the only way, but have you really
watched and or read most of that stuff? I've
tried to, but there is so much worthless junk
it's as bad as high school chat rooms.
We aren't in school anymore.
If you seem to be working more and getting
further behind, maybe you need to rethink your
'time spent' online. Watching those videos when
you know you aren't going to get the product
anyway, or spending half an hour trying to find
one tweet that makes any sense, is not going
to get your website built.
It isn't going to get your ads written and
your promotions out. It won't help build your
list of anything but freebie seekers.
You have to decide if you just want to 'play'
on your computer, or make some real money.
There is plenty of money to be made, but you
have to stay away from the distractions, all
those things that don't directly improve on
what you had yesterday.
Got emails more than a week old? Dump them!
See a new product of interst to you? Do a
search, you'll find better information on it
than from some hyped up guru's video, and
you won't waste 20 minutes by doing so.
Look at it this way, all that stuff works ONLY
when you are already set up and making good
money. What happens is you are playing into
their hands, you are on their site longer,
and not working on yours and building up your
own business.

Secrets For Creating Traffic Getting Headlines

In order for people to read your articles you need to give them a
reason to chose your article over someone else's. This is where a
well written headline comes into play.
A good headline provokes the readers attention and teases their
curiosity. You can write a catchy headline by:
1) Using trigger words:
secret
discover
important
never before seen
amazing
incredible
unbelievable
shocking truth
how to
etc.
2) Asking a question:
Is it possible to...
Have you seen...
Why does...
When is...
Who is...
What you don't know about...
Can you really...
etc.
Avoid writing headlines like these (actual article headlines taken
from ezinedirectory.com):
"Fiberglass Speaker Boxes"
"Internet Usage"
"Essentials of Broadband Routers"
"Legalities of Pollution"
"Innovative Floor Tile Ideas"
Instead, write headlines like these:
"Are Fiber Glass Speaker Boxes Really Worth The Money"?
"The Shocking Truth Behind Internet Usage"!
"What You Don't Know About Broadband Routers".
"What Are The Legalities Of Pollution"?
"Have You Seen These Innovative Floor Tile Ideas"?
Which headlines would get your attention?
Once you have succeeded in getting readers for your articles you
then need to get the all important click thru to your website.
This is very easy to do. Instead of submitting the entire article
to the directories, split the article in two and submit only a
portion of the article.
In the resource box you would then write something like,
"Part 2 of this article can be found at www.yourblog.com"
or
"To view the rest of this article please visit www.yourblog.com."
Using a tagline like this instead of the usual tag line practically
forces the readers of your articles to click thru to your site.
A tip on article splitting....
You want to split the article at a point that will entice readers
to read the rest of your article.
You can do this by going through the article and finding what you
believe to be the most interesting or informative part and retaining
that portion on your blog.
For example, suppose you had written the article above on innovative
floor tile ideas.
In order to split the article you could divide the ideas into a list
and retain the top 5 or 10 ideas on your website or blog.
Then you could write a tag line in your resource box like:
"For the top 5 innovative floor tile ideas please visit www.yourblog.com."
The bottom line is that traffic is the key to your success and as a
website owner there are many different ways you can create a
flood of free traffic.
If you can create quality articles in a flash you can just as easily
create a stream of traffic to your website.
This same headline idea applies to your e-mail marketing as well.
If you don't create some type of interest with your headline, the
best ad copy in the world is no good to you if no one reads it.
You do not need an expensive course or ebook, the simple truth is
you pretty much know what works already. Just pay attention to
the headlines that got you to open that email! Chances are, you
weren't the only one, so take some notes, write those headlines
down and you'll soon see how to improve your own.
Afterall, you are in it for the money, right?
